I did eventually manage to get something on the Helix that was close to the ToneX model, but I think the key advantage of ToneX is immediacy - so many of the tones sound great to me with no tweaking needed. Although, I'll also admit, I think I had upgraded HXEdit from 2.81 to 2.82 last week. I don’t know anything about the Helix but make sure the drivers are up to date. This was not a USB connection issue, since update, HXEdit, and Windows sound system could all see my Helix. The audio device Helix could not be initialized. It worked fine just a few days ago, and I've never had an issue before. When I try to connect the Helix floor (v 2.82) to Studio One 3 (Windows 10) I get this message. Create one mono track to record the dry DI guitar, and set the tracks input to Helix USB 7. not to mention it looks like there was still remnant stuff left over from previous installs that it was good to get cleaned out. I'm imagining there may have been a recent Windows edit that gobbed stuff up. This will simplify your routing issues too. I ended up having to remove all the Line 6 drivers and software I had on the machine (except for Native), then I had to use Regedit to clean out all the Line6 references (the uninstall didn't remove the references in the Programs app, and there were a bunch, 1.87, 1.91, 1.92 and other stuff (like HD Pod and Workbench), then I reinstalled HXEdit rev 2.82, and everything was back to normal. The normal procedure when working with external hardware in Studio One is to insert Pipeline XT.Just setup the I/O's in PipelineXT and you're good to go.Studio One will automatically compensate the latency induced by your hardware loop. HXEdit worked fine, Windows was able to use my Helix as a sound card and play through it, but, my DAW, which never had an issue before, wouldn't recognize that the ASIO driver was there.
Yeah, interestingly, I never had a problem before, but yesterday I had driver issues on my laptop, too.
